IMP-A01 was a basic astromech droid design - initially developed for Empire - which was used in the production of various droid models - both for military and civilian purposes - by different droid manufacturers. Full production ID for this design was droid.astromech.imperial_a01. It sported three wheeled legs, a 360-degree rotating flat-top conical head on barrel-shaped body, and retractable manipulator. It had built-in basic blaster and allowed to install wide array of extra weapons, probes and protective shileds.
